Official rulebook
Bracket Rules
One bracket. No takebacks. Highest score after the final wins.
Core Rules
- One bracket per person. Each person gets one official entry.
- Brackets lock before the first World Cup match. Once the tournament starts, picks are final.
- Every bracket must be complete. Group order, best third-place teams, every knockout winner, third-place winner, runner-up, champion, and final score all count.
- Before kickoff, leaderboard points are projections. Pre-tournament standings are based on current FIFA world rankings. Once matches start, real World Cup results replace the projections.
- The leaderboard updates as the tournament goes on. Players move up and down as matches finish and brackets gain or lose possible points.
- Champion pick equals final winner. The champion is the team picked to win the final. There is no separate champion pick.
- Highest total points after the final wins.
Tie-Breakers
- Correct champion
- Correct final score
- Correct runner-up
- Most correct semifinalists
- Most correct quarterfinalists
- Earlier submitted bracket wins if brackets are identical
- Commissioner decision if somehow still tied
Fairness Rules
- Country names are standardized by the bracket form.
- If two people submit identical brackets, the earlier submission owns that exact bracket.
- The leaderboard/spreadsheet is the official source of truth.

This bracket rewards real tournament knowledge: group order, knockout winners, finalists, and the champion. No popularity multipliers. No random bonuses.
Phase 1
Group Stage
Nail the order early and build a lead. Exact group reads get rewarded, but every correct placement matters.
Phase 2
Knockout
Stage
Points climb as the stakes climb. Late picks can swing the leaderboard, but only if the bracket was built well enough to get there.
Skill First
Every point comes from a real prediction. There are no underdog multipliers, popularity bonuses, or random boosts.
Still Alive Late
Semifinals, runner-up, final score, and champion points keep the standings open deep into the tournament.
Whole Bracket Matters
Group reads create the knockout path. The champion is huge, but the full bracket decides who actually wins.
